Robert Mulligan Obituary

Rev. Robert A. Mulligan 96, of Indianapolis, passed away April 5, 2011. He was born February 4, 1915 in New York, NY to the late William and Mary (Julian) Mulligan. Robert received his Master of Divinity Degree and was ordained in the Methodist Protestant Church in 1939, which later became part of the United Methodist Church. In addition to serving as minister, district superintendent, and hospital chaplain, Robert served the Union Church in Bogotá, Colombia from 1983 until 1985. Visitation will be Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at Eastgate Christian Church, 8100 E. 16th St., Indianapolis. Robert is survived by his wife, Eleanor Mulligan; children, Dawn Mulligan (Robert Bush), Robert Mulligan Jr., Mary Alice Mulligan and Richard Lewis Mulligan; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Preachers' Aid Society, P.O. Box 19207, Springfield, IL 62794 andor Garrett Theological Seminary, Student Scholarships, 2121 Sheridan Rd., Evanston, IL, 60201-32989. Arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Drexel Chapel.
