Robert Wiens Obituary
Bob graduated in 1969 from Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas, majoring in Chemistry. After marriage in 1969, he attended Kansas State University where he earned his Master's Degree in Analytical Chemistry in 1973. He was employed by Eli Lilly and Company in 1991 and retired in 2013.
Bob was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being in the choir, participating in many Bible Studies, and being a part of the United Methodist Men's group. He used his photography hobby to record many of the church activities.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Nachtigal) of 56 years; children Scott (Ivy) Wiens, Melissa (Patrick) Fait, and Karen (Dan) Wiggins; 10 grandchildren: brothers ElRoy (Loretta) Wiens, Ronald (Cheryl) Wiens, Orville (Theresa) Wiens, sister-in-law Deloris Wiens; and many nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brother Arlen Wiens, and a nephew Corey Wiens.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 25, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, followed immediately at 12 p.m. by a Celebration of Life service at St Mark's United Methodist Church, 4780 East 126th Street, Carmel, IN 46033.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Mark's United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
Arrangements entrusted to Keller Mortuary Services. Online condolences may be offered at www.KellerMortuary.com.
