Robin Read Obituary

Robin Thomas Read 67, of Indianapolis, passed away at Community North Hospital on Saturday, December 15, 2007. Mr. Read was born July 15, 1940 in Monongahela, Pennsylvania to Charles Edward Read (deceased) and Dorothy Thomas Read. He was graduated from Shaw High School in East Cleveland, Ohio and received a B.S. in psychology from Case Western Reserve where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He attended Auburn University in Alabama for his graduate studies. Mr. Read moved from Cleveland to Indianapolis in 1971 with McMillan Publishing Company. His career in Human Resources allowed him to become a specialist in OSHA and women's employment issues with several different companies. He was a frequent guest lecturer at many workshops and symposiums in the Indianapolis area. After retirement, he worked for Kelly Services as an evaluator at the CTB McGrawHill facility. He was a thespian, lover of music, literature, and movies. He sang in the church choir at Second Presbyterian Church and also performed on the stages of Civic Theatre and the Edyvean Repertory Theatre at CTS in many productions. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Elliot Charles Read and Kim, his mother, Dorothy T. Read, and his companion, Theresa Wilson - all of Indianapolis. Visitation with the family and friends will be at Harry Moore Family Mortuary, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19. The Memorial Service will follow immediately after at 7:00 PM. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in the name of Robin T.
