Roger Jessup Obituary

Roger L. Jessup 77, of Summitville, Indiana, died June 9, 2006. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a Grant County Farmer for over 51 years and was owner of Jessup Farm Services from 1956-1973. He was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives in 1967, where he served three terms until he was elected to the Indiana Senate in 1972 where served until 1989. He was a member of the Fairmount Friends Church, Grant County Tax Payers Association , American Legion Post 313 and Masonic Lodge # 635 He received the "Sagamore of the Wabash" award November 2, 1984 and the "Kentucky Colonel" award April 30, 1985. He is survived by his wife Geraldine, daughter; Rita Shreve, and Mary Elizabeth Jessup. Son; William Jessup, 2 grandchildren, 2 sisters and a brother. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Sue Trumbo and 2 Brothers. Visitation will be Monday June 12, from 4-8 p.m. at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN. and 1 hour prior to the funeral Tuesday at the Fairmount Friends Church. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday June 13, 2006 at the church. Burial will be in Park Cemetery Fairmount, IN Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairmount Friends Church, Gideons International, or Grant County 4-H Council.
