Ruth Keller-Smith Obituary

Ruth E. Eckstein Keller-Smith 61, former resident of Jasper, IN, died at 11:54 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2005 at her home in Greenwood. Ruth was the daughter of the late Bernard and Rose (Nolan) Eckstein. She was born June 18, 1944 in Ferdinand, IN. Ruth was a 1962 graduate of Marian Heights Academy in Ferdinand and was an employee of Federal Express, Indianapolis hub for 15 years. Ruth was survived by her husband, Clint Smith and she was preceded in death by a son, Brian Eugene Keller and one sister, Susan Egbert. Other survivors include: one daughter, DeAnn Head and her husband Bill,Greenwood; one son, Craig Keller and his wife Heather, Camby; and one grandson, Michael Head; four sisters: Mildred Stemle, Trafalgar; Jean Isom, Greenwood; Joan Wolfe and Irma Gudorf, Jasper; four brothers: George Eckstein, Valley Station, KY; Donald Eckstein, Chesterton; Thomas Eckstein, Haysville; and William Eckstein, Jasper. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3rd at SS Francis & Clare Catholic Church with Mass immediately following. The donation of her body to the Anatomical Education Program of Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology is being made and a private burial will be conducted at a future date. Church and Community Funeral Services is handling the arrangements.
