Enjoyed knowing Sam all these years since my youth. Living on the same road as I was born, with Sam residing at his old home place, I would stop when he was working with his flowers. Enjoyed all those conversation about days long ago. I extend my sympathy to all of Sam's family.

Our deep sympathy and condolences to all Sam's family. He and my father, the late William F. (Peachy) Collins, spent many happy and productive hours working together on behalf of the Democratic Party and for better government. I had the greatest respect for Sam's influence, guidance, understanding, and advice. May he rest in peace.
