Sarah Thompson Obituary

Sarah Darsey Thompson entered God's eternal presence on June 7, 2011. Sarah's gracious, loving and caring spirit was a gift to her family and to all who knew her. She led her life to the glory of God. She was born December 25, 1920 in Liberty County, Georgia. She attended Georgia Southern University, taught for several years, and was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 63 years, the Rev. Ernest E. Thompson, Sr. in 2007. Sarah is survived by her four children, Barbara T. Duch of Ft. Wayne, IN; Sarah Jo (Ralph) Norwood of Wellesley Hills, MA; Pamela Thompson Green (Tom) of St. Petersburg, FL; and E. Edward Thompson, Jr. (Diane) of Glen Ellyn, IL; six loving grandsons: M. Matthew Duch of Bethesda, MD; Jonathan P. Duch (Donna) of Chisinau, Moldova; Scott E. Norwood of Boston, MA; Kelcy T. Green of St. Petersburg, FL; E. Alexander Thompson and W. Christopher Thompson both of Glen Ellyn, IL; and sister Cecile Darsey Daniel of Claxton, GA. A memorial service will be held in the Milner Chapel of Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis on Monday June 13 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will precede the memorial service at 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Marquette Manor Foundation, 8140 Township Line Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46260 or St. Vincent Hospice, 8450 Payne Rd., Indianapolis, IN. 46268.
