Thelma M. Lapin

Thelma Traci Marie Lapin 90, passed away on June 12, 2007, in her home in Carmel, IN. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, she was employed by Martin Marietta during World War II and later as a jewelry buyer for Stewarts Department Store. A championship ice skater and equestrian, she was also active as a volunteer, serving for years as a Cub Scout Den Mother, worked with the SPCA, and with the Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra. She attended Elderslie Methodist Church, where she was in charge of all altar flowers, as well as being the recording secretary of the church's Women's Society. Also an artist, she studied oil painting with the renowned Joseph Vogelsang. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Meyer and Joseph Kresback, and her husband, Joseph Charles Lapin, Jr. She is survived by her devoted and beloved caregivers, Don and Gloria Metzler, and her son, Geoffrey S. Lapin. Memorial donations may be made to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Music Library (32 E.
