Thomas P. Newett
84, of Greenwood, passed away on April 30, 2013. Born the only child into his Irish heritage on January 9, 1929 in Indianapolis, he was a a 1946 Cathedral High School graduate and attended Butler University.
He was an active entrepreneur, owning Mid State Supply, Four Seasons and Pool City before retiring in 2003.
He spent the last 36 years enjoying life with his wife, Patricia (Arendt) Goble Newett, and cherished time spent with family. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed golfing and was longtime I.U. season ticket holder. Throughout his life he touched many people in business and his family; his legacy lives on today with his large family that continues to grow.
Survivors include his children, Thomas, Michael, Patrick and Kevin Newett, Suzanne Craig, Chris Newett, Christina Lawson, and Pete Newett; Cindy Elmore, Gary, and Jon Goble, 65 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tom & Irene Newett, children, Nancy and Shawn Newett and wife Patricia A. Newett.
Memorial visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5 at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch . Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6 at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am however very thankful for the opportunity to have met your dad. He was a wonderful man. Truely touched my heart and put a smile on my face every day. He will be missed.
