Tonya Barlow Obituary
Tonya Marie Barlow
47, was born April 2, 1964 and died December 8, 201. She was the owner of Fuzzie Bear Childcare Academy. Ms. Barlow started the business in 1993 and watched it grow from a home daycare into a thriving business with two locations. Over the years, Ms. Barlow cared for hundreds of children
Ms. Barlow was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in 1982 where she ranked highly in her graduating class. After high school, she went on to college at IUPUI where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Public Affairs. Ms. Barlow then started a career as a caseworker for the state of Indiana in the Child Protective Services division. While with the state, she became very involved with the AFCSME union where she was a high-ranking member and traveled around the world representing the union. Although she excelled at her post with the union and with the state, she had a dream of owning her own business and left her position to pursue it.
Ms. Barlow leaves to cherish her memory a son, Richard Bell, Jr. and a host of friends and family.
Services are to be held Saturday, December 17 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2624 E. 25th Street, Indianapolis, 46205. Viewing begins at 10 a.m. and the funeral to follow at 12 p.m. Arrangements: Payne Funeral Home .

Hello Tonya's family, my name is Sheila McKnight. Tonya and I attended school 93 together (6th thru 8th grade) and were very good friends. I am deeply saddened to hear of my good friend's passing.. She was very intelligent, kind and down to earth good people. I can remember when she came back to school after summer break in the 8th grade and she had had a skateboard accident and chipped both her front teeth. We'd always sing duets together in music class and went roller skating every Friday night... You are missed my friend. Richard, you were 3 weeks old the last time I saw my friend, I know you are a wonderful young man.. ..... Thinking of you my dear friend and SO SORRY we lost touch... Love you, Sheila Marie McKnight

I did not really did not understand the lost I would feel until I went to the viewing today. I am sorry that I could not stay. Tonya was laid to rest well. I was proud of you guys and it was hard. Richard, your lost is my family lost as well. I am sadden to know she is no longer with you. She was the best Mother anyone could have. She loved you more than life and only wanted the best for you. Fuzzy Bear have loved my grandkids and I never worried about then because you all loved the kids as your own. You can not replace a person like Tonya, she was truly one of a kind. Richard, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. Although I had only known her for a short period of time, I could tell that she was a genuine, sweet, and caring woman. She was always very pleasant when I would pick my son, AJ, up from Fuzzie Bear. I'll definitely keep you and your entire family in my prayers. May God bless you.
