Trey Smith Obituary

Trey Thomas Smith

25, of Avon, Indiana, sadly and un-expectedly passed away on October 19, 2014. Trey was born on March 28, 1989 to parents, Tommy and Tammy.

He was a 2008 graduate of Avon High School, where he received a football scholarship to Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois. Trey was a passionate athlete and outdoorsman from the time he could walk. He loved football, especially Alabama, baseball and to hunt and fish. There was not a week that ever went by that he was not in the woods at the family hunting cabin or at a lake or a pond. He spent many years playing football and baseball at AJAA and then volunteering as he got older as a referee, umpire, coach and role model for the younger athletes. He was also an assistant football coach at Cascade High School. Treys infectious smile, his big wonderful heart and genuine care and concern for all those he loved will be deeply missed but never, never forgotten.

He was the beloved son of Tommy Smith and Tammy Coston and step-father, Steven Coston. He is survived by his parents; brother, Todd Smith; the love of his life, Melissa Haley; his grandparents, Gale and Joan Smith, Linda and Danny Douglas, Phil and Barb Strauch; nephew, Owen Howard; aunts and uncles, Donna and Mike Dye, Chrissy Scott, Jeff and Bev Smith; cousins, Jeff Smith, Alec Dye, Brooke and Kamree Smith (Mike Hamilton), Kourtney Dye and Drew Scott; great-grandmother, Alberta Addis; step-sisters and step-brothers, Russell Coston, Christie Coston, Curtis Coston and Caylie Monroe, as well as many other family members, long time friends, teammates and classmates. Rest in peace, Trey Thomas.

Services will be at Noon on Wednesday, Oct. 22 in Avon High School. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21 in Conkle Funeral Home Avon Chapel .
