William Bissmeyer Obituary
Naples - On Sunday, October 25, 2020, William Charles Bissmeyer II, loving husband, father of five and grandfather to 11, passed away at the age of 66 in Naples, Florida. Bill was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on April 15, 1954 to William Charles Bissmeyer Sr. and Jeanne Puttman. In 1976, he graduated from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio majoring in business. Bill received his MBA from Xavier University in 1980 and taught marketing classes during his studies.
Bill met his loving wife, Helen Maria Francel, while attending John Carroll in 1972. They were married on December 18, 1976. They eventually moved to Indianapolis where Bill started B&B Energy and became a successful businessman while raising their five sons. He had a passion to encourage parents and children to further deepen their relationships. In March 2002, Bill's movement began as Dads' Day influenced by the death of his son, John David, and integrated with the All Pro Dad Organization. His life centered around faith and family.
Bill is preceded in death by his son, John David; his parents and one brother, Roger. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his sons, Bill (Megan), Joe (Camille), Tommy (Nancy) and Andrew (Katie); his 11 grandchildren, John, Charlie and Hannah Bissmeyer; Gemma, Veronica, Felicity and Angelina Bissmeyer; Isabella Bissmeyer; and Alexander, Anibel and Olivia Bissmeyer.
Visitation will be at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection at Holy Spirit at Geist Parish, Monday, November 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. A private family burial will follow the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to the Dad's Day Legacy Fund at https://www.gofundme.com/f/dad039s-day-legacy-fund. www.shirleybrothers.com.

You touched our lives in so many ways. Thank you for the mentorship as a young adult, not just in business but as a father and husband. Your dedication to our industry will be known for ever and your impact you made with Dad's Day is only just a small part on how you touched so many families for the better. Bill was a unique, kind, caring, friendly and upbeat individual. Our son Chad went to grade school with and played sports with his son John. Our daughter Chelsie was a cheerleader for those same sports. He was always at all the football and basketball games loudly supporting and cheering for the players. He also loved to pick on and tease the girl cheerleaders by pulling their ribbons, bows or hair wraps out of their hair and then holding them up so high that the girls could not reach them no matter how high they jumped. He made it fun to be around him. He spoke to and was kind to everyone he met because he didn’t know a stranger. He was a very special and unique individual whom God put on this earth to enrich this world with his goodness and make life a little better for anyone he knew or met along the way. Hugs and prayers go out to his family in this time of loss.

Bill Bissmeyer. You were bigger than life itself. Your heart was always open and accepting of everyone around you. You knew no stranger. I am blessed because I knew you as are my husband and five children. Being a Dad of five boys, you loved on our 3 little girls, spoiling them with treats and money for the snack stand. You always made us laugh, even when nothing was funny. Thank you for inviting our boys, Garrett & Tyler, to be on the wrestling team at St.Simon. I will never forget that call. I thought it was a joke. I told the boys to just go and try out, they wouldn’t make the team. Well, they came home and said, “Mom, we made the team!” That sport changed their lives! You changed their lives. Thank you for always being a friend and a cheerleader for our family. You helped us through so many trials and tribulations. I know you can’t read this now, but I know I have thanked you a million times in person. Still, it’s never enough. Thank you Bill. You leave a legacy behind. I will miss you. RIP my friend .
