Im Lisa Dowdle, Coreys mom. Corey talked to me about Amanda and how much Nakia and Corey enjoyed her company. My granddaughter Is a friend of Lukas as well. I didnt know her well, but Corey and Nakia have said she was a true friend and was a very strong self determined person. Someone that you were very proud of. In the short time I was aware of Amanda, I wanted you to know that she inspired me. I had an illness that was not easy to face. She gave me hope. She was a very strong young woman and I admire her greatly. I hope you dont mind me telling you this, Ive only met her twice. My son and daughter in-law will miss her. Im sorry I didnt get to know her better.

To the Gleason Family,
Knowing Amanda through grade school at St. Tims I have thought of her often throughout the years. Always happy memories of fun times and adventures. Her smile, laugh and energy lit up a room and she always lived life the the fullest enjoying all the little moments and big milestones. Even as a young girl she taught me the importance of being yourself, giving of your time to others, and keeping a positive mindset. Her star shone brightly on earth and shines even brighter now in heaven. She touched so many lives and made a difference to so many people just by being herself and leading through example. It was always so clear that she fiercely loved her family, may you continue to experience her love for you in the the days and years ahead as people share with you their stories and memories. Thank you for sharing Amanda Rose with all of us. God bless you.

I remember when Pat met Maria. I thought she was special but when I met Amanda I knew they were an exceptional pair. Pat and Maria got married and their family grew. Amanda was a terrific big sister, daughter and friend. She will always be remembered as a strong, caring and loving young woman.

My 6 year old granddaughter has had FA for the past 3 years.
Name: Norah, age 6
Lives in: California
$ raised so far: $10,107
"We have all been reminded of how precarious life is at this time. In our house, homeschool includes playing "hospital nap" (bone marrow biopsy). It includes singing to Norah's stem cells, and hypervigilance to keep us all healthy. We are raising funds to find a cure and improve/lengthen the lives of all people with this condition, including our Norah." - Norah's parents, Rachel and Zachary Gratz-Lazarus.
She has undergone stem cell treatment at Stanford Childrens Hospital.
In her honor and in your blessed memory, I will continue my donations to FARF (Fanconi Anemia Research Fund), praying for a cure sooner than later.
God Bless You, Amanda. Rest In Peace. May your memory be for a blessing.
