I was shocked to hear of Bernie’s passing and my condolences to the entire Devlin/Taddeo family ,I was 20 when I started working with Bernie at Metric Realty and if it had not been for Bernie selling the company I might still be there today I enjoyed working for Bernie and like the family environment we had as an office and he was the one that brought that about .I think everyone that was a Mertric Realty at that time enjoyed working with Bernie and who could forget our sales contest where we divided into two teams and the winners ate Steak and the losers ate beans ?,it was alot of fun .Over the years working there he taught me a lot of what I know about the real estate business ,I often hear many of his lessons and ideas in my head just the way he said them 30 yrs ago .Bernie was bit old school and part of me would love to return to that in today’s high tech impersonal world .I always said Metric was big enough to be professional and small enough to be personal ,thanks to Bernie .In years after he sold the business and semi-retired ,he could never keep his hands out of the RE business completely ,I would stop by his home and Bernie and Diane would always make me feel at home ,Bernie’s Irish smile and laughter and friendship will be greatly missed .Phil Moffitt

Dear Diane,
Heartbroken for you and family. Bernie was a good man. I never felt I worked for him ,rather with him.
I always appreciated the party you and the 27 South office threw for my 21st birthday. I still have the beach hat that never fit.
I will have you and family in my Saturday prayers..

Bernie was my best friend forever. We met and bonded immediately. He was a good husband, father and grandfather. He had an infectious laugh and was truly fun to be around.

Bernie will be terribly missed. He was loved by all of us and he will be cherished in our memories forever.

My condolences to Diane, Brendan, Casey & the Devlin Family.

Received an email from my brother Frank about Bernie's passing and I can not say how sad I was to hear the news. I haven't seen any of the 1960 CYO champs since high school, but there has always been a deep fond memory of those times. Bernie was a hell of a player. Smart, fast and a tough competition. Always pushing the edge, he made the whole team click. I Know he's wheeling and dealing up there and bringing even more laughter to the happy place. I am so sorry for your familes loss and will have you and bernie in my prayers

Dear Diane and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I was a friend of Bernie’s for over 65 years, starting with Little League baseball. Bernie had so many great qualities but the one’s that stand out to me were his mischievous smile, quick wit and a laugh that could, and often did, fill a room. He will be missed.

I will always remember Bernie as a kind, warm, generous Man who made you feel welcome and comfortable when in his company. He and Diane are the most gracious of hosts. He had a personality and sense of humor as robust as he was. He, Diane and Casey will remain the Three Amigos forever in my mind. May you be looking into the face of God at this moment Bernie. God bless you. Barbara Dunn

Hello family and friends of Bernie Devlin, please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of the kindest gentleman who has always been on my mind and in my thoughts over the years and always brought a smile to my face and wonderful thoughts of a time when life was so simple and each day was an exciting experience spent on the North Wildwood Beach working as Bernie's mascot. I'll never forget the day he stole me from the guard on the stand at 26th st. I was overjoyed to be working on the jeep everyday with Lt. Bernie Devlin, he was well respected and liked by everyone and I also enjoyed being his bait when he'd send me over to a pretty girl and tell her he'd like to talk to her, he'd say Ron-Jon go tell that beauty there I'd like to speak to her and sure enough he'd never get turned down, he was the King of the beach with a bevy of beautiful girls! He'd always make time for me ,I was a 11-12 year old kid raised by a single parent in the Grays Ferry section of the city and he'd make time to visit me in the fall/winter and take me to a Big Five game at the Palestra, usually with a pretty date on his arm..lol. He really loved his sports and another memory would be him letting me tag along to the basketball games at the night league in Wildwood with him and "Corkey" , it was always fun cheering them on and afterwards heading to one of the watering holes for a couple beers and checking out the pretty girls! He will be sadly missed by his family and friends but I wanted to share some of the acts of kindness he showed a young man and instilled some of his character and kindness into me that shaped alot of my thoughts and values throughout my life. I last saw Bernie at his mom's viewing in 2004 and he was quite surprised to see me after all these years, Corkey was also there and course Bernie yelled to Corkey.. look Cork it's Ron-Jon!! I regret not reaching out and spending more time with this great man but I'm sure you close friends and family enjoyed many days in each other's company and maybe even reminiscing about the days on the North Wildwood Beach! Forever in my thoughts.. Ron Miraflor (Ron-Jon) Hey Corkey reach out sometime, I'll come and visit.
