Christine Granahan Obituary

Granahan Christine who immigrated from Ireland at 17 and turned a love for her native country into a popular radio show, passed away peacefully on December 21 at the Philadelphia Protestant Home. She was 89. In addition to hosting the Chris Granahan Irish hour, Mrs. Granahan spent her earlier days working, raising her four children, and volunteering. Her enthusiasm and adventurous spirit only seemed to grow as she aged, especially when it came to the loves of her life, her nine grandchildren. Her friendly smile and seemingly endless supply of compliments will be deeply missed. Mrs. Granahan is survived by two sons, Joseph III and Thomas (Cami), and two daughters, Colleen (Dan) and Sheila, her grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and in-laws. She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Joe. For safety reasons, the service was private. A celebration of life will be held in 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family asks any donations be made to the Philadelphia Protestant Home. mayfuneralhome.com
