CHRISTINE MCCULLOUGH Obituary

MCCULLOUGH CHRISTINE T. Dec. 16, 1928 - Sept. 22, 2025 Christine T. McCullough, age 96, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Arrington, Virginia, she was the devoted wife of the late Linwood McCullough and a faithful servant of Christ whose life was a blessing to all who knew her. Christine's life was anchored in love-love for God, love for her family, and love for her community. Christine was a cherished member of Saint Matthew African American Episcopal (AME) Church in Philadelphia. Christine leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Christine was known for her outspokenness, her feistiness, opinionated demeanor, and her strong level of community activism. Christine's warm smile, compassionate heart, and sense of humor endeared her to everyone she met. At home, Christine's devotion was no less profound. She was a mother who gave herself wholly to the care and welfare of her children. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Montague and Janice McCullough. Christine was a protector of all of her grandchildren, Nicole Chambers, Rodney Montague, Jr., Rudy McCullough, Alana McCullough, and Derrick Gantt, Jr. She also welcomed five great-grandchildren, Kieran, Canyon, Akari, Ayden, and Alexander. Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood and her daughter, Michele McCullough-Gantt. She is reunited with them and with the loved ones who went before her, gathered together in the peace of heaven. Her legacy is not only in the family she built but also in the love, laughter, and traditions she passed on. Christine was honored in a private family service September 30, 2025 at The Chapel at Whitemarsh. Interment immediately followed at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, Pennsylvania. As they continue to honor Christine in prayer, the family has respectfully requested that any contributions be made to the church that she was devoted to for over seven decades. Donations may be mailed to: Saint Matthew AME Church, "In Honor of Christine T. McCullough", 215 North 57th St., Phila., PA 19139.
