CHRISTINE O'BRIEN Obituary

O'BRIEN
CHRISTINE (Morris), 52, of Reading. Beloved wife of William J. Merritt, passed away at her residence on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Born in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Robert Morris and the late Alwyn (Green) Morris.
On all counts, Christine was a remarkable woman. In her too-short life, she found time to earn her medical degree from Temple University, complete two different medical residencies (obstetrics/gynecology and psychiatry), restore four pre-1900 homes, master the art of quilting and embroidery, become extra-ordinarily well-versed in art and literature, and take gardening to another level.
That being said, it was in her humanity that her gifts found their greatest expression. She never forgot her main task of being a mother and wife, and it is in that she most excelled. Her friends found her to be loyal to a fault and always there for them, whatever the time of day or night and wherever they were. She left this world far too soon.
Surviving along with her husband Bill is her son Liam Merritt; her father Robert Morris of Williamsport, PA, and her sister Mary Morris of Ithaca, NY.
Funeral Services and Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christine's memory to The Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service and Education Center, 213 N. 4th St., Philadelphia, PA 19106. Send condolences at

Bill and Liam - my heart goes out to both of you. Chris and I laughed and laughed... I will miss her sooo very much- she was loving and kind and loved being a mom more then anything on this planet - she loved her family - she loved goodness and the simple sweet things of life- I will never forget her - anyone who was lucky enough to know her , feels this way I am sure.
Chris , you always said " I keep your bail money here bc I know someday I am going to get a call from some police department "lol- I will miss our laughter , but your laughter will shine on in the hearts of all those people( and kittens and puppies) you reached . My love and prayers to bill and Liam , my love and prayers to Chris - my chief resident- that I will miss so very much . I will never forget all our times- all the love and support you blessed my life with , never will I forget. You have left way to soon " missy"-
But I know you have found the most precious of peace now. I love you Chris- I will miss you
With love,
Angela
