Clark Russell Arrington III

ARRINGTON CLARK RUSSELL, III Clark Russell Arrington, III, lived a life dedicated to advancing Black economic power, fair trade, cooperative business practices, and solidarity economics. He passed away on September 25, 2024, and the impact of his visionary work lives on through the countless organizations he touched. Born November 18, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, to Florence Cooley Gullins and Clark Russell Arrington, he graduated from Palmer Memorial High (1965), Penn State (1969), and Notre Dame Law School (1974). Arrington was an educator and attorney in the U.S. and Tanzania, and a distinguished member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He was inducted into the Cooperative Hall of Fame in 2021. Across the globe, he mentored young activists and lawyers. Clark is survived by his wife Rahma, children Lauren (Jaleel), Ayne-Alem, Che, Manal (Hussein), Leila, Liz, six grandchildren, and many relatives and beloved friends. A Celebration of Life will be held May 24, 2025, from 2-5 P.M. at One Art Community Center, Philadelphia.
