I passed by your old place today off of Cityline Avenue and it brought up some old memories. I'm glad we finally got together a month or two before you passed.
Wish you would've told me what was going on.

It is a beautiful spring day here in Michigan and

I am remembering Dan. It is now three years since Dan

left us and I have not seen a rainbow since then. Dan

if you can hear me please send me a rainbow to know

you are around. I have been back to Philly and miss you

not being there. I often wonder if you have met up with

my son Rick. Most likley you have because he loved fishing

too. Boy what a fishing group you must have there. Catch

big ones and have fun. Say YO! to everyone and I love you.

Dan:

I can not believe it is a year all ready since you left us. I miss you very much. You would be so happy to know that Susan and I have become very close. We Talk about you, cry about you and now we are even starting to laugh together about all the wonderful memories you gifted us with. Susan is and always will be family because we share you. We are helping each other as much as we can. You would be so proud of the way she comes to my aid when I am down. Sometimes I think she would actually give someone a black eye if the upset me.
Thank you for bringing her home to me.

I often wonder if when you arrived home.....If when Dad met you...Did he say: "See I was right wasn't I, I told you both to stop fighting because you would need each other some day" He was so right wasn't he Dan we did need each other and you are the best brother God was so kind to give me.

Past times are a treasure I have found.

All my love to you and Fred,

Your Sister

Dear Susan,

I thank God evertime I would think of you and Uncle Dan together and happy. I thank him for giving you to my uncle. Did he tell you that I named Danielle after him.

I will tell you what he said, and after all these years, 15 at that, I still remember what he told me.

"If it's a boy, don't name it Daniel. I don't like that name!"

I think he was just kidding!

With all my love and graditude to you Aunt Suzan. He will be with you always.

To The Family and Friends of Danny,

Because I beleive poems are written by thoses in emotional anguish they often express thoughts for us at times like this. the following poem is written by Lenord Cohen about what we do for our loves:

For your sake I said I will praise the moon

tell the color of the river,

find new words for the agony of gull.

The branches of shore trees,

like trembling charts of rivers,

call the moonfor an ally

to claim their sharp journeys out of the dark sky,

but nothing in the sky responds,

The branches only give a sound

to miles of wind,

With your body speaking

you have spoken for everything,

rob me of my strangerhood ,

and because you are so dear to me

you have made me one w

with the root and gull and stone

The dictionary describes a friend as:

1. a person whom one knows, likes and trusts

2. a person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; comrade

3. one who supports, sympathizes with, or patronizes a group

4. an acquaintance

The dictionary, however, makes one primary omission. It doesn't speak of the years that a friendship endures, the laughter that fills the air when friends are together, the support, understanding, and comfort that a friend can offer, or the anguish that you cannot escape when a friend is dying. The dictionary, I'm afraid, cannot begin to define the word.

So then what is this thing called friendship? Is there a magic wand that silently sends you and that special person on a journey into what can be a lifelong relationship? Is it a mutual admiration, common interests, or just an enduring tie that bonds you together and gives you one of life's greatest joys. Friendship is a precious jewel that should be celebrated and never taken for granted.

I never got a chance to say goodbye my friend, so let this be my final farewell. Goodbye Dan, I loved you like a brother for many years, and that emotion shall remain in my heart forever.

My memories of Danny are of him protecting his little sister after she and I had a fistfight as children. As we got older I always had a little crush on him. He was a wonderful brother to my best friend and for that I will always remember and love him. Rest in peace Danny.

For my Bro
A distant bright light shines with such power, high in the sky and down onto the sea. The moonlit night reflecting on the water, with rolling waves, gleaming and free.

The wet warm sand with a little boy's footprints,of happy hours, or so it seems. And a little red flag on top of a mountain, a sand castle of the little boy's dreams.

The seagulls glide over a mist on blue waters, with the sun rising and shining on thier wings. The calm sea rages with laughter, from the crowded beach the sunrise brings.

In the evening, clouds appear in the distance, acroos the horizon, the winds blow the sea. The waves raise high and move swiftly in anger, crashing in madness, increasing in speed.

Then, the sun sets with a soft reddish glow, and calms down the sea for the flutter of wings. And there the flag lays on a pile of sand, once a sand castle, of this man's dreams.

I Love You Bro and I will surly miss you!!!!

I will celebrate my brothers life by remembering what a special little boy he was, that curley red hair and dimpled smile. Dans' love for rocks and stones, frogs and mostley turtles. I can see him in his Daniel Boon racoon skin hat with the furry tail. Dan encountered many harsh situations and over came them. Dan was a strong man more so than others will ever know. I knew Dan as an easygoing man with a wonderful sence of humor, his joy for life was often driven by his love for Susan his wife. I take pride in and am thankful he is my brother. His sister bids him eternal love and peace in the arms of his Mother, Father and sister Pat. I hope the fish are biger than ever and you have fun catching them all.

No mush mush,

Lillian
