Osman Dewaine Lowell September 27, 2025, Age 91 died in Haddonfield, New Jersey, on September 27, 2025, from complications of heart disease. He was born in 1934, to Selma (née Brudevold) and Marlowe Osman in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Dewaine attended St. Louis Park High School, near Minneapolis, where he played the trombone and was a student conductor. He helped support his family by working at a local grocery store and led a youth program at his family's church. Dewaine obtained a Bachelor's in Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1957. After graduating, he married Nancy Ann Osman and moved to Seattle, where he worked for Boeing while pursuing a Master's in Engineering from the University of Washington. After enrolling in a management program at General Electric, Dewaine joined Sperry Univac (now Unisys Corporation) in 1964 and assumed several managerial roles with frequent international travel and transfers to new locations. Dewaine and Nancy had two children: Cynthia ("Cindy") and David. Dewaine retired in 1999 as Senior Vice President and Corporate Officer. Dewaine and Nancy divorced in 2003. In 2005, Dewaine married Clare Weiler and moved to Haddonfield, New Jersey. Dewaine enjoyed traveling (especially to Tuscany); eating pasta bolognese with red wine; watching football, U. Conn women's basketball, and James Bond movies; listening to big band music and Frank Sinatra; reading murder mysteries; playing flight and air traffic control simulator games; contributing to the Tri-State Jazz Society in various roles; attending 1812 Productions' comedy performances; and spending time with family. Dewaine will be remembered as a driven workaholic whose determination and attention to detail led to a career that brought him great satisfaction. His interest in leadership and motivation of others led him to provide influential career advice to many friends and relatives. Dewaine took his role as a provider very seriously, including helping many friends and family members manage their finances. He was an engaged parent, grandparent, and step-parent, playing football and skiing with his kids when they were young, telling crazy stories, and, as everyone got older, asking about the latest updates. Finally, he had an optimistic and emotional side that allowed him to get teary watching rom-coms and say "I love you" with genuine feeling. Dewaine is survived by his wife, Clare Weiler; children Cindy (m. Daniel Herron) and David (m. Erica Osman); 4 grandchildren, Zachary Herron, Alexander Herron, Sean Osman and Erin Osman; three step-children Rachel Fricke (m. Bryan Fricke), Charlie Weiler (m. Kara Weiler), and Rebecca Tasso (m. Tim Tasso); seven step-grandchildren: Roger, Lucy and Roland Fricke, Hannah and Jack Weiler, and Danny and Luke Tasso; and his brother, Marshall Osman (m. Cathy Osman.) A private gathering to remember his life will be held at a date yet to be determined. Donations can be made in his memory to Samaritan Hospice Services of New Jersey. Kain-Murphy Funeral Services
