DONALD NESTLER Obituary

NESTLER


DONALD EUGENE, August 29, 2015, age 90, at his home, in Havertown PA. Born in New Orleans LA in 1925, he received a BSME from Tulane University in 1945 and did graduate work and taught at UPenn. A distinguished aerospace engineer, he worked most of his career at the GE Re-entry Systems Division as a specialist in heat transfer issues, publishing dozens of papers and lecturing internationally. After retiring, he continued to work as a consultant for many years.
He was a loving husband to the late Helen Burgen for 55 years and was devoted to his 7 children - Grace Bergen, David Nestler (Patricia), Susan Nestler (Dean), Daniel Nestler, Kathryn Halberstadt (Kurt), Douglas Nestler (Alejandra), and Dale Nestler (Linda) - and his 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Southern Poverty Law Center, or a favorite charity.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Nestler family for their loss. He was a wonderful man and loved his family. There are many good memories of him. He is with his true love now. Rest in peace!
