The Final Salute
Brothers and Sisters-in-Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to Larkin Crayton (L.C.) Cathey, Jr. our Brother-in-Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for L.C. To L.C. it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Army. L.C., we commend you for your honorable military service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 781 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 177 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to L.C.'s family and loved ones.

I'm terribly sorry for the loss of LC! Our loss is Heaven and LC's gain. I worked with LC at New York Furniture Company many years, that's where we met, although, his reputation preceded him!He was a salesman extrordinaire, funny, and a joy to work with. Rest Peacefully, LC ... your work is done. You're leaving a wonderful legacy!

James and I express our condolences to L.C.'s family. James served with L.C. as an elder at Hilldale Church of Christ and remembers him as a dedicated Christian, who took his role as elder as one of great responsibility. He was a friendly person who treated his Christian brothers and sisters in a kind manner.

Dear Cathey Family,
Lisa and I are deeply saddened to learn of Brother LC's passing. He was such a good Christian man. I was proud to serve as an elder with him in Clarksville, TN. He and Joy were instrumental in helping my wife and I open a K-12 Christian school in Clarksville. They were a lovely couple and excellent role models. We pray that God will comfort you during this time of loss. God Bless!

Raenita and family,
L. C. was our next door neighbor when he lived in Clarksville, TN. He immediately became a good friend. He was a kind, considerate Christian man. We know he will be missed but the wonderful memories you have of him will be a blessing to comfort you in the days ahead.
Our prayers are with your family,
