DOROTHY M. "DOTTIE" (nee Sommer)
Dec. 22, 2017 of Warrington, Pa.
She was the wife of Roy Smedley and the sister of Bernadette Ayre and Dave Sommer, S.T. Relatives and friends will be received Thurs. Dec. 28, 2017, after 9:30 A.M. until time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph's Church, Easton and County Line Rds., Warrington, Pa. 18976. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cem. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions made to Little Flower Catholic High School, 10th and Lycoming Streets, Phila., Pa. 19140 in Dot's memory.

My sweet Dottie and I became friends in First Grade at St. Martin of Tours School. She grabbed my hand one day and said, "Do you want to come play at my house?" I said yes so from 1946 to 2017 we have been close friends. Dottie understood the meaning of Life. May she rest in peace.

It was great when my two best friends married each otherso much easier on those trips back to Philly over the years, only one place to go to see both of you. And you always had some neat place that you had found to go in the early years, and then great meals at home in the later years. You both were a welcome refuge where I could retreat from the Air Force for a few, brief moments. And then there was always your role as mother Dut, a follow-on to your matchmaking efforts in earlier years. I think you knew but why do we never quite say how much some of us mean to each other? You made a difference in more lives than you can imagine and I know that there is a special place in heaven for you. Rest in peace, Dot, you changed my life forever at one time.
