Ella Judge Obituary

JUDGE
ELLA MAE SNYDER, age 88, formerly of Needham MA, Quincy MA, Cape May N.J. and Phila. PA, died Nov. 9, 2007 in West Chester PA. She was born on July 20, 1919 in Phila. She was married for 49 years to her late beloved husband, Charles A. Judge. Beloved mother of Charles Judge III of Prince Frederick MD, James Judge of Farmington CT, Anne Groener of Norwalk CT, Mary Whidden of Marshfield MA, John Judge of Malvern PA and Margaret Judge Doherty of Quincy MA. She also mentored 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by her grandson, Christopher Judge Groener. Funeral from THE GEORGE F. DOHERTY & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1305 Highland Ave., Needham, MA 781-444-0687 Mon. at 9 A.M. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, Needham, at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Sun. 4-7 P.M. Int. St. Mary's Cem., Needham. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ella's memory to St. Joseph's Indian School, Chamberlain, SD 57326, www.stjo.org/index.cfm?cat=97. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church choir in Needham, an avid reader and lifelong learner, gardener, late life watercolorist, and a never ending source of loving and kind advice on life. Ella's love of the arts, literature and music sustained her in her final decades. Her spiritual life was deep and rich. Her open door policy reflected her open heart towards people. Your mom was a very special person and always welcomed me into her home. I have many wonderful memories of hanging out at her home, singing with family members around the piano, and conversing in the parlor and over dinner. She loved her family and it showed.
