Mike said, I speak for all at the surprise of the turn of events. We have always appreciated Betty's hard work and wise words of wisdom when asked over the years. We hope that the family will come through this with peace knowing that Betty is in a better place with the Lord. We shall miss her greatly and we hold the family in prayer. Betty was always gracious and made people feel welcomed. May the peace of God prevail in your hearts and mind. That the arms of the Lord comfort you during this difficult time.
Love, Diana and Mike Pontti

Words can never express the sorrow of losing such a vibrant, wonderful person from the horticultural world. Yes, she will be sorely missed, but her and her husband's legacy will live on. We are all better for having known her (and personally her husband too), a guiding light to the Holly Society of America, may that light never be extinguished.
