EMMANETA SUBERS Obituary

SUBERS EMMANETA "EMMY" (nee HEPFORD) Age 89, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025. Emmy was the widow of the late Albert R. Subers, former Montgomery County Judge; daughter of Charles and Mary (nee Scarborough) Hepford, born in Ridley Park, PA. A 1953 graduate of Nether Providence High School, Wallingford, PA, now Spring Haven High School and a 1957 graduate of Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia where she was President of the Student Government Association. Emmy was employed as a special education teacher in Delaware County from 1957 to 1961 and a substitute teacher in Springfield, Montgomery County School District from 1980 to 1995. Emmy was also a tutor with the Abington Adult Literacy Program. She is survived by her children, Julie Daeth (Mark), Jonathan Jarden, Emily Subers, Janet Subers (Ed Conley), Ruth Subers, Elizabeth Subers, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Emmy was a member of Church of the Messiah (where she was a volunteer layreader and volunteered at the Church's thrift shop, Belfry Bargains), Women's Club of Suburban Philadelphia and Philadelphia Cricket Club where she played duplicate bridge. She enjoyed playing tennis and bridge and loved to travel. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Church of the Messiah, 1001 Dekalb Pike, Lower Gwynedd, PA 19002.
