Dear Jane:
I was deeply saddened to receive the e-mail from the office giving me this terrible news. I don´t have to tell you what an extraordinary man your husband was but I can say that as a patient he was about as perfect as they come. And in nine decades, I have known a few. Normally going to the dentist would be an ordeal but he somehow made me laugh through any pain I might be having.
I recall him going to the D.R to do volunteer dentistry (maybe even two visits), and recounting taking the grandchildren camping.....and did he not do cleanup in the garden of the Jewish Cemetery? And I think he even took Linda to the Phila. Orchestra to see that she got some highbrow culture.
It was a sad day when he told me that he would be retiring but nothing like knowing that today he is gone.
Please accept my deepest sympathy.
