EVA O'BRIAN Obituary

O'BRIAN

EVA (Evie) C. O'Brian. Born May 2, 1996, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday July 19, 2014. Evie was a recent graduate of Episcopal Academy and was to attend Penn State University majoring in Hotel and Hospitality Management. Her hope was to help restaurants and school cafeterias offer more options for people with food allergies.
She is survived by her parents David and Christy, her brother Christopher and sister Abby; also her grandparents Marvin and Carol Maizel and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Evie loved her school, classmates, teachers and coaches and their love of her is evident by their overwhelming support.
She was known for her infectious and ever present smile and will be remembered for her laugh, high spirit, drive and determination. She participated in field hockey, track and lacrosse. She was an avid runner participating in many runs; most recently the Philadelphia Half Marathon and The Broad Street Run. Evie loved food and had fun experimenting with cooking and finding new ingredients to spice things up.
Evie was an organ donor and helped save and improve the lives of many by her grace. Family and Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday July 23, 2014 at The Episcopal Academy Chapel, 1785 Bishop White Drive, Newtown Square, PA 19073. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in her memory to her beloved Episcopal Academy.

Not sure what to say?

Each time I pass the place where this tragedy occurred I think of Evie. Though I didn't know her, I know thousands of runners and am reminded of the preciousness of every life and every moment we have with each other. My son, now 16 and driving with his permit, reminds me, too, that taking care of each other through vigilance as well as by overt acts of compassion is our daily responsibility and opportunity. I am also gratified that the speed limit is now 25 in a whole section of this thoroughfare. My prayers are with your family. -Mike Casper

Dear Christy and Family, words can not say how sorry we are for your loss, you are in our thoughts and prayers, Denise and Don Martin

I believe our lost loves are always present in the temporal beauty of Gods work in all beings.

Dear Christie and family, I can only imagine how deeply you are grieving the loss of your beloved Evie. I do know that you have enormous love and support to help lift your spirits and soothe your pain. I believe God has a plan for each of us and clearly Evie was very special as she has touched the lives of so many people who never knew her personally. I will continue to pray for Evie's soul and will pray that time lessens your grief and leaves only beautiful moments and memories of a life lived fully - be they short of years. Clearly Evie's years were those of quality, but not quantity..memories of Evie will do justice to her earthly life. I continue to keep you in my prayers. Godspeed strength and healing to you and all who loved Evie and grieve her loss. Meg Gallogly, St. Andrews Family.

Dave and Christy, I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter. No words can describe--she is flying free with my baby girl Lilliana and I know they are having fun together. I send hugs.
