I have just seen that Dr Simeone passed away. In 1995 I went to see Dr Simeone, referred to me by a patient of Dr Simeone. He discovered the reason why for 10years I suffered with lower back pain and temporary paralysis. Dr Simeone found the reason for my pain, and the next week operated on me, and after that I have been pain free for almost 30 years. Condolences to his family, I will never forget how Dr Simeone made me pain free. Rest In Peace Dr Simeone. Thank you.

In the early 1970s, I was a student in neurosurgery with Dr. Simeone. I shared his love of neuroscience and found Fred inspirational and an outstanding example of a kind, helpful mentor who encouraged his students to always strive for excellence. With gratitude and fondest remembrance.

When my Husband Max suffered an aneurism at 38 I had him transferred to Pennsylvania Hospital. I asked who was the best. I was told Dr.Simeone. Dr. Simeone operated on him on Feb.13th 1987. I always told people Dr. Simeone had "God" in his hands. My husband is now 74. One last funny thing when my husband was being taken into surgery he said, "Freddy I'm ready". Our Sincerest Sympathy on the loss of Your dear father, father-in-law and Grandfather. May He Rest In Peace.

With all due respect to the titanic scale of Fred Simeone's professional legacy in the medical field (which is way way over my head), his daughter Christina, my dear sweet friend, is surely as much legacy as any great man can hope for. She's a sweetheart, and that had to come from somewhere. Right, doc?
My condolences go to Fred's family and to all who will miss him.
