May I extend my deepest condolences to Gary's family. I had the pleasure of re-engaging with Gary when he would come up from Lansdale on Thursdays to see his patients in our offices in Center Valley. Also got to hear him play the piano at Toscano's restaurant. He was a sparkling physician, educator and musician.

So sorry to learn of Gary´s passing. I first remember him as a young outstanding teacher when I was a third year medical student at Jefferson. Then , over the years as a colleague in Endocrinology and he still taught all of us Endocrinologists in Internal Medicine about interesting cases from Pediatric Endocrinology. We all knew that he was a fabulous artist and instead of describing his patients in writing, he would frequently draw them and present them in that way.
He was truly a unique wonderful person with many many talents. He will be missed by all of us who knew him.

My deepest sympathy to Evy and all of Gary's family. I had the pleasure and honor to work with him at Jefferson for many years. He was a fabulous teacher, pediatrician, and human being. His easy going manner always made it a great pleasure to be in his presence. One of his paintings has always been on our walls for more than 40 years.. I wish I knew he was playing in a band - I would have loved to cross the river to see and hear him. He was loved by generations of students and will be greatly missed.

In 1983 I had an exhibition of paintings that I had recently done on a trip to the Greek island of Paros. The exhibition was held in the Jefferson Commons building. Dr Carpenter bought two landscape paintings of fields near the house that I lived in. I really appreciated that support. He had a good "eye".

Evelyn & Quincy: Fred and I were so sorry to hear of Gary´s passing. Although it has been many years since we were neighbors, we have such fond memories of our frequent get-togethers. Gary was indeed a brilliant and talented physician. Countless children´s lives were made better from his care and expertise.
