My God where do you start with a man like Shorty. I loved him and Vera dearly. Although this phenominal man could be intimidating to some, with his family he was the very best. In the years I spent with George Sr we had many wonderful times together. I enjoyed our conversations immensely as he was such a great teacher. My greatest consolation is knowing him and Vera are together again. I miss them both dearly. My prayers and love to all.

Dear Hamilton Family,
My father, Jack Tracy and George were first cousins (their mothers were sisters). My father felt a true kinship with George. When my parents started to winter in Florida they enjoyed getting together with George and Vera. Later still they enjoyed traveling with George and Vera in their motor home.
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve the death of your father, grandfather and brother.

How I remember Grandpop George

He had one arm but you'd never know it, because he swam everyday and used one arm, like others would use two.
Things that will always remind me of my grandpop will be:
Melrose Diner, Oaklyn Diner, Baileys Health club, where he'd take me swimming(at the crack of dawn) at Christmas time, as a kid. Big Boats, soda fountains, like the one I'd use on his boat when I was little. Grandpop taking the boat out in the deep see, than getting a bucket of soapwater and swimming around washing the bottom of the boat, with 1 arm! Fresh orange juice, he'd bring over in the morning at the Ft.Lauderdale house. Of course Coaches. Most of my memories are of the older coach, when I;d swing on the ceiling poles and get in trouble. His table turning into a bed..and me and crystal sneaking in to watch movies on the coach, when it was parked next to the Ft.Lauderdale house. Grandpop driving his electric car, or using his little remote control on the Boat. Him playing all the different horns he had on the coach. Boston Market. He was the only business man I knew, that wasnt miserable. Him having those little pamphlets with sayings on them , that hed pass out , off his coach , or at Terminal Vending. Of course you cant miss the classic "shake my stub" or how he'd tease all the kids with it! grandpop was always kind, he never yelled at me or anyone around me. He always had something good and positive to say, and he always gave good advice. He was a gentleman to my grandmother and practicly took her everywhere with him, she was his side-kick. His freezer on the coach was always stacked with fish and vegetables.; his pantries with figs! Coin dispensers remind me of grandpop because he kept on on the old Coach and I;d play with it a lot. Even though I wasn't around my grandfather a lot, ......he sure does leave a lot of good memories.
He loved his life to the fullest here, and I'm sure he's going to continue loving and living his life wherever he is now, with his side-kick!
I just hope grandpop does one more thing, when he gets to heaven....I hope he asks GOD to shake his nub! :)

George Hamilton was my grandfather and i loved him very much. I would go up to stay with him for weeks at a time to help take care of him and just to see his shining personality. He was a wonderful person with a great personality. "Its good to be alive".
