GEORGE WESTWOOD Obituary
Presently he was a pilot with American Air Lines. Devoted son of Denise (nee Gavaghan) and George E. Westwood, survived by his former wife Mary (nee Geri), cherished father of George IV, Tricia, Joseph, MaryLena and Mark, grandfather of Ella, Carlo and Cade, brother of Jeannie (Nick) Di Renzo, special friend of Elaine Tessina, will be missed by his nieces, nephews,uncles, aunts, cousins and caring canine Dakota.
The family will receive relatives and friends in Church Wednesday 12:30 P.M. followed by his Memorial Mass 1:00 P.M. Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 Cathedral Rd. (off Ridge Ave,), Phila. 19128 Inurment will take place with Military Honors at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
Donations are requested in George's name for cancer research to mayoclinic.org/jacksonville/

It's been almost a year since George's passing. I just found out. We were good friends at Rollins. Many great times and laughs. He loved Springsteen. Rest in peace old friend.

Mary and children and entire Westwood family. I was so sorry to hear of George's illness and passing. You will be in my prayers in the days and months that follow. I pray that you feel the Peace that only God can give.
I lost my precious Mark just 11 months ago to this horrible disease called cancer. We need a cure.

George was a student of mine when I taught at Penn Charter and I remember him very well as an outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic student. I was also a private pilot and at his request took him up flying from North Philadelphia Airport when he was a senior at PC and let him operate the controls in flight which I believe he told me was his first time up in an airplane. I knew he had gone on to a distinguished career as a naval aviator and hope that I had a small part in encouraging him to do that by taking him flying so many years ago. Bruce C. Cooper (OPC '64)

I attended high school with George, and we were good friends then.
I had not seen him for many years, but he was a great person, and teammate in sports. I'll always remember that great smile and fun loving nature.
I particulary wish sister Jeannie peace and sorrow for the loss of your brother.
