Jerry turned me on to JRR Tolkien, and also influenced me to play guitar. We "Tolkien Heads" used to identify ourselves with one or more of the characters/races in LOTR. I always saw myself as a hobbit, and I think JD saw himself as a Elf. And I agree. Jerry was a wise poet. My first memory of JD playing guitar was his cover of "You're So Rude" by Faces. Jerry was the first person who showed me how a guitar was played. So many good times spent up on the 3rd floor of Golf Road.

I have many great memories with Jerry. Many of them included Jerry playing music. I really enjoyed listening to him play and our fun times. He will be missed by many.

My heart is so heavy learning of Jerry´s passing. From growing up with Jerry in Rolling Greens to the precious interactions I had with Jerry as an adult, his gentle, sweet nature was memorable.
Rest in peace, JD. You made the world a better place.
