I will always cherish the many memories I have of my "Uncle" Jerry!! So many good times and laughs. He was definitely one of a kind and even though I hadn't seen him in years, I will miss him. I hope that all of the great memories that you all have will bring you comfort. I am sure that he and my dad, and too many others, are having an incredible reunion!!!
Lots of love,

Josephine: I am in Aruba and cannot attend Gerry's service. Obviously he had many friends who loved him from the postings I see here. I will miss his laugh at the SIC VFW and his harrassing me at the Pines to screw up my allready pathetic Golf game. I would like to extend my condolences and wish you the best. I look forward to seeing you biking on the Promenade this Spring. Best Wishes to your family. Ray Lombardi Sea Isle City

Gerry Smyth was our ambassador to Harrisburg. When he boarded the train at Paoli, all the "Ardmorans" would cheer. I recall a visit to the "trading rooom" in Harrisburg where the tag men had to transact their business. Gerry was one of a kind and he made the eight year trek to Harrisburg a little lighter for all of us. Godspeed Gerry. I am sure you are with the angels.

My heartfelt condolences to the entire Smyth Family. I can recall riding the 4:50AM Keystone Special to Hbg back in the early 1970's. You could hear Jerry's laugh 50 yards away. Always the last of us to board. I never could figure out wether it was the job, time of AM or their personalities. But Jerry booming laugh & big smile even made those miserable collegues smile. Now, your get to ride the special train w/Tony Bilosi, Larry, Earl & Russell among others. Dewey has been waiting for you, to ask another dumb question. Rest in Peace in the Mess Rm in the sky (this one has a golf course)

To see Jerry''s picture after so many years, his big smile & the gleem in his eyes bring back so many good memories. Our kids never forgot the family vacation with Goodtimers in the Poconos. You can rest now, the pain is gone.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of my "Uncle" Jerry. I will always remember his beautiful smile and how infectous it was. I'll never forget the bond he had with my father, Doc, and my "Uncle" Larry. I'm sure all those MBS and West Catholic boys are having a great ol' time up there in Heaven. And... I wonder when tee time is? You are greatly missed!

I have known the Smyth family forever. Ever since I was a little girl. I remember the 1st time I met Mr. Smyth. All I could think was, WOW! That is a tall man. But he was so funny. He was always funny. It's just a sad loss for all of Havertown to lose a man like him. My hugs, thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family. Heaven will be splitting at the seems from laughter with a man like mR. Smyth up there to make them laugh. Love, Michele (Tuttle Grand-daughter of Gene and Louise Wright) Hagopian.

I remember a lot of things about Mr. Smyth - but the one that always sticks out in my mind is the night Megan and I thought it would be a good idea to stay out all night at the ramp (those who know us, know what I'm talking about). We were in what? 9th grade?! Anyway, we stayed out all night and when we got home in the morning, Mr. Smyth was awake and let us in the house. We tried to convince him that we were out running to get ready for field hockey tryouts. He sat on the couch and watched us stretch and listened to our lies, never once saying a word - I know he knew we were lying. He was a very cool, very sweet, and generous man. A wonderful father and grandfather. He will be missed by many and remembered fondly. Who he was and what he stood for will be carried on through his children and the stories they tell to their children. Rest easy now Mr. Smyth.
