GLADYS MELLWIG Obituary
GLADYS M. (nee Karstien) on March 16, 2010, age 81, of Beesleys Point, N.J. for the past 21 years, formerly of South Philadelphia. Wife of the late Bruce J. Sr.; loving mother of Bruce J. Jr. (Louisa), Donald E. (Rosemarie), Richard J. (Vicky) and Gary R. (Catherine). Sadly missed by her sister Anne Bongard; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Friday, 7 to 9 P.M., and Funeral Saturday, 8 A.M., MURPHY-RUFFENACH FUNERAL HOME, 3rd and Wolf Sts. Phila. Funeral Mass Saturday, 9:30 A.M., St. Richard's Church, 18th and Pollock Sts. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Donations in Gladys' memory may be made to American Diabetes Assoc., 150 Monument Rd., Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd PA 19004.

Bruce, Donald, Richard and Gary,
We are so proud of all of the hard work you have done in the past 2 months, taking care of your Mom. You are all amazing, brave and caring men, she would be so proud of you all. Know that she is back in the arms of your Father, where she should be and wanted to be. We will miss her dearly and will cherish the memories we've shared with her.

Our condolencess to the Mellwig family. Gladys and Bruce were wonderful neighbors for thirty-eight years. They enjoyed a loving life together and now they are together again. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

To my Aunt Gladys. She is finally home with Bruce, where she truly wants to be. We will all miss her as we have missed Uncle Bruce over the years. I will always remember my time growing up on Snyder Avenue, and our fun vacations in Wildwood. Love, Maryann
