HARRY BARR Obituary

BARR HARRY J., MD Age 86, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Mary R. Barr, of 63 years, his sister, Theresa Polansky, two daughters, Carlyn Zehner and Alison Barr, nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons. He is predeceased by his daughter, Lorraine Buchanan. Harry served in the US Navy Medical Corps in Newport News, VA, before settling in Philadelphia. Having practiced as a radiologist in the Philadelphia area for decades, he retired from Temple University Hospital in 2008. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the American Roentgen Ray Society. A graduate of Fordham University and Georgetown Medical School, Harry loved to learn. After retiring, he especially enjoyed attending classes at Villanova University. Supporting the Villanova Wildcats was a tremendous passion shared by Harry and Mary. Harry was a long-time member of St. John Vianney Church, Gladwyne and more recently a member of St. Anastasia Church, Newtown Square. Services and Interment will be held privately.
