HARRY GOLDEN Obituary

GOLDEN
HARRY L. "HAP", passed away in his home in Drexel Hill on October 17, 2013 at the age of 82. He is survived by M. Jeannette Golden, his beloved wife of 54 years, and his children Kathryn, Jane Lawler (Joseph), Mary E. (Molly) McMahon (Christopher), Hugh (Kathleen), Paul (Amy), and Michael. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Quinn of Fairfield, CT, and his grand-children, Kathryn, William, Jack, Hugh and Emma McMahon, Julia, Clare, Joseph and Ava Lawler, Olivia, Charlotte and Charles Golden, and Michael and Luke Golden.
Mr. Golden was born in Pottsville, PA. He graduated from Cass Township High School and Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, CT. He was a graduate of Yale University, Class of 1954. Mr. Golden was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, and taught at Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA, for over 25 years, where he also coached the football and wrestling teams. Mr. Golden was the owner and operator of The Taco House in Center City, Philadelphia, for 33 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. and Monday morning 8:30 to 9:15 A.M. at THE DONOHUE FUNERAL HOME, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. of Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 A.M., Church of St. Andrew, School Lane and Foss Avenue, Drexel Hill. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, dona-tions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.

Dear Jeanette, As you grieve know that i am remembering you and honoring the memory of Hap. I remember going to Taco House many many times from Bucks county since the late 70's until you closed. I always enjoyed seeing you and Hap when you were there. Always a joy to chat with you both and always had the BEST food too. Thank you for being such wonderfull folks! Jeanette, I'm so sorry hear the news today. Even though I haven't seen you guys in many years, I still often think of you both and those days at Taco House. One funny memory I've always kept with me is Hap telling me I was cutting an onion wrong, and I swear every time I cut onions I think of that. All the best to you and the rest of your family in this time of grief.
