I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Helena. I have been looking for family and she is my mother Denise Reardons cousin. I remember her well and just watched her video on Tv. She was a special person.

Helena, the very last time I saw you was when you were rushing down the main staircase at Hall Mercer with the same smile and purpose. I knew you were out to save the world wearing the bright orange vest that I have not had privilege to have, it is special! You are special in my heart and hearts of people in Philadelphia especially the homeless population. Rest In Peace, and you will be forever missed!

"I am so very sorry for your loss. I've lived next door to Helena on Kalos Street for 20 years now and got to know her strong will and way. I am glad that I was able to express that I was grateful for her life as she repainted her doorsteps gray one afternoon last September. She smiled back. I know that she was revered in the field of homeless outreach. Rest in Peace Helena."

I am so very sorry for your loss. I live on Kalos Street, a few doors down from where Helena resided. She was a tireless advocate for quality of life on our block. She always had time for a chat and a laugh. She was revered in the field of homeless outreach. Our neighborhood has lost one of the good ones.

I knew Helena from my years of work as a psychotherapist at Hall-Mercer. I remember her rushing out on freezing dark nights to seek out and help the homeless. She was totally dedicated and humble about the amazing and important work that she did. She is surely resting with the angels.

Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, "I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visitme.' With gratitude for all that Helena has done for so many people and with sympathy for her family, Donna Campo

"It is with deepest sorrow to know that a dear friend has passed away. My heart is sadden by the lost of a loved one, but glad that there is no more pain. My mind is filled with memories of her beautiful smile and her funny laughter. She was a real trooper at work dedicating herself to help those in need of a true change of life. You will be truly missed."

"Initially trained by Helena as an Outreach Worker, an icon that will be missed. What I valued most about Helena is that she was a leader by example and an advocate for the homeless. Helena was approachable, resourceful, collaborative, and would humbly information share. Deepest condolences to Helena's family."

I had the privilege of seeing Helena "in action", caring for the homeless of Philadelphia, treating them with respect and dignity, treating them as friends. Helena made a HUGE impact through her work and uncanny ability to connect with these hardest-to-reach of people. Her heart was huge. Her people will miss her. Philly will miss her. I will miss her.
Peace and Love to her family,
Jeneane Johnson, colleague and friend
