Herman Hausman Obituary

HAUSMAN
HERMAN, 95, of Lake Worth, FL and formerly of Phila, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004. Mr. Hausman was married to his beloved Ruth (nee Greenberg) for 69 years and was the devoted father of Arthur (Betty) Hausman, Joan (Dr. Paul) Meisel and Janice (Dr. Sidney) Garfinkle; a cherished grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 5 and dear brother of Cecelia Cooper. Mr. Hausman arrived in America from Eastern Europe at age 9. At 15, he was offered a bookkeeper's position at the Wirkman Company, a general insurance brokerage firm where he enjoyed a successful career and eventually became president of that firm. He also served in the Coast Guard during WW II. He was a Past Master of the Bayse Newcomb Masonic Lodge and one of the founding members of Germantown Jewish Center in Phila. After retiring to Florida, he was involved with many philanthropic organizations and was a member of Temple Beth Tikvah. Funeral Services were held Friday, Sept.24, 2004 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Boynton Beach, FL. Contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice by the Sea 1531 W. Palmetto Pk Rd Boca Raton FL 33486.
