Hilda Smith O’Kelley Obituary
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Sunrise Cemetery in Maysville. The Rev. James Dumas and the Rev. Katie Lancaster will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at the funeral home.
Mrs. O'Kelley was born March 10, 1937, a native of Hall County and the daughter of the late Paul Smith and Pearl Ledford Smith. Hilda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her garden and flowers and was talented at playing the piano by ear. She was a member at New Haven C.H. Church for the past two years but had previously been a member at Maysville Baptist Church for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, George O'Kelley; daughter, Pam O'Kelley; son, George O'Kelley Jr.; grandson, Tucker Daniel O'Kelley; sister, Patsy Smith Little.
Mrs. O'Kelley is survived by her children, Cheris Skelton of Gainesville, Christy and Stan Pierce of Gainesville, Joseph and Stephanie O'Kelley of Commerce, Jonathan and Nicole O'Kelley of Jefferson, Luci and Rick Ariail of Maysville, Lee O'Kelley of Gainesville, Terry O'Kelley of Maysville; sister, Jean Smith Parker of Blue Ridge, Va.; grandchildren, Andrew Skelton, Matthew Skelton, Hillary Arant, Kristen Honeycutt, Christian O'Kelley, Haeley O'Kelley, Karlee O'Kelley, Jacob Haynie, Brooks Haynie, Griffin Haynie, Allie O'Kelley, Jessica Benton, Jon Ariail, Randy Chastain, Megan Standridge, Daniel Standridge, Brandie O'Kelley, Carla O'Dette, Scott Gowder, Michelle O'Kelley; great-grandchildren, Karie, Paige and Rylee Skelton, Hanna and Noah Skelton, Kinsey Arant, Jett Arant, Elijah Benton, Tripp Benton, Macileigh Standridge, Matthew Gowder, Michael O'Dette, Erin O'Dette, Ian Crow and Gabe Gowder.
Flowers will be accepted, but for those who desire donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 222, Gainesville, GA 30501.
