I knew Jim in 1969-1970 as a colleague in the Villanova History Department. We stayed in touch with each other until his death. He was a fine historian and a gentleman, and I am proud to have known him.

Life is so short and those we love are gone from our lives too quickly. Our compassionate Heavenly Father promises to empty the graves in the near future. This promise is found at Hosea 13:14. May the God of loyal love comfort you during your time of sorrow.
