To The Entire Dever Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Jimmy was a good and caring person who never bothered anyone. He always made me laugh. He always had a story. He touched so many peoples lives and will be greatly missed. He liked to tease John about bowling and softball. Second base for Callahan's will never be the same. Hold onto your memories. They last a lifetime. Jimmy is now enjoying the Summer Winds. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Take care.
Love,
John & Mary Pat

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. My sister Jennifer and future brother in law Chris said nothing but beautiful things about James, and how great of a guy he was to know. Please know my prayers are with you all at the very sad time. Remember and cherish every great memory, and try to hang in there. All my love and deepest sympathy.

To the entire Dever family: Scats had that natural ability to make a person smile, & that in itself is a wonderful gift (now a cherished memory). I will never understand (or am I able explain) why God takes such good people at such young ages. I know that I take comfort in knowing that God must have wanted them for some special reason, & that an eternal peace is now a quality that only those chosen people possess. It is said time heals all wounds (and maybe) that’s right, but it is those actual special interactive moments in life that reminds us of how lucky we were to have been a part of such special relationships - cherish those moments. My prayers are with you, & in time, I hope you find some consolation in knowing how loved Scats is, was & always will be…

My deepest sympathy to the Dever family. I was so sorry to hear of your loss and it's a terrible loss to all who knew him. I'm still having a really hard time believing that he's actually gone. I'll miss him so much as I'm sure everyone who knew him will. He was a very kind and gentle person and very special to me. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Love you Scats...

To the Dever family,
Last night we found out about Scats. How devastating! What a nice guy - and from a very wonderful family! We always see Scats, Helen, and Peggy in Callahan’s. There have been many nights with Scats next to us, chatting away and laughing. He will surely be missed. We are including a picture of Scats that we just came across on our computer last week when organizing pictures. He looks so happy in it. One thing positive we can say about death ~ it is so comforting to know that we now have yet another person, as good as Scats, up there on our side!

It was very, very sad news that I received from my Dad this afternoon about Jimmy.
Having grown up on the same block, played softball, admired his new motorcycle in the early 70's,, and, lately, shared some beers with him at The Still in October, he was, without exception, among the nicest people I ever met in the world.
My condolences to Scats, Peggy, the family, and all those at Bainbridge Beach. I will miss him.
