Offering great sympathy to Dr. McGann's family. I was an intern at TTCSP at Penn in 2015-2016. Dr. McGann was so fun to work with and an incredible mentor. He gave all of us interns great opportunities to learn about the world of diplomacy, politics, and think tanks. You could tell that he really cared about the students and interns with whom he worked, our careers and our well-being. My immense condolences. - Gwyn Garrison

I knew Jim well when I worked at the Brookings Institution. He was a keen mind, a skillful networker, the single most knowledgeable person I know on think tanks, and, most of all, a good friend. He had colleagues around the world who considered him a friend, a mentor and a resource. Think tank leaders worldwide have expressed shock and sadness by his passing. Jim will always be remembered as a think tank pioneer, a policy entrepreneur, and a good friend. My deepest condolences to Jim's family.
