To all of Jimmy's loved ones,
God only "lends" us people in our lives. It is what we learn from them that is ours forever. It shapes our lives and even touches the lives of others to who have not had the pleasure of knowing that person. Jimmy will be with you forever because of how he touched you. Nothing can take that away from you. Remember that always.

To the Righter Family: Eleanor, George, George, Nancy, Valarie, Jimmy:
I am deeply saddened by your great loss. I wanted all of you to know that Jimmy touched my life so very much. Jim was a true inspiration and positive role model to me during times in my life when I was troubled and depressed. I sought Jim many times to talk to him and ask him for his advise and direction. I trusted his word unconditionally. Jim encouraged me and always gave me a positive response. His words were always reassuring, loving, and kind. Jim helped me to always look at the bright side of things. Jim led me to a wonderful counselor and a 12 step program that transformed my life. Jim was like a big brother to me. It hurts my heart that I did not tell him how much he meant to me while he was still here with us. Once in a while Jim would check in with me to see how Buddy was doing. He would thank me for taking Buddy and then he would make a joke about how crazy Buddy could be. And then we would both laugh. Again, I want to tell all of you that I am truly sorry for your loss. Jim was a great guy.
Love, Elena

Jim was a co-worker of mine at the Water Department. I was so sad to hear of his passing. To the family, please remember, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. May you all be comforted with the memories you have.

We all miss my Dad very much. There isn't much for me to say because everyone else has written everything he was about. He was a great guy and never said a bad thing about anyone and usually looked on the brighter sides of things. I've learned alot of good lessons from my dad and i'm glad i did. I want to thank all the people that wrote in this guestbook for him.

My dad had such a great heart. Just a few months ago, when I was still living in Richmond, I was having a really tough time and my dad was really worried about me. He immediately got on a train to come see me. He stayed with me for the weekend and somehow helped me get through a truly devasting time. Even though it wasn't under the best circumstances, I appreciate that weekend that we had together. He cared so deeply for me, my brother Jim, my mom, my grandmom, my uncle, and other close friends and family. I just hope everyone remembers that our dad was also in a lot of pain, for a very long time. We will miss him here on earth, but he can rest and be at peace where he is now. I can feel in my heart that he is relieved and that makes me happy. He has already been giving me and my family very clear and obvious signs that he is with us and he is ok. Even though he passed away at such a young age, I never think that it wasn't his time, because God really does have a plan for all of us...sometimes it is just impossible for us to understand it or accept it because it is too hard. The book that my brother and I found in his van has some great messages in it. (It is called 24 hours a day.) Thank you to everyone who attended the viewing and funeral- every bit of support helps.

Uncle Jim was loved by a lot of people. About a year ago he turned me onto a book called "The Case For Christ." I am certain that Jim is in Heaven now; he will be missed down here.

My thoughts and prayers to all of Jim's loved ones on your sudden loss. My sincerest and heartfelt sympathy to his mother Eleanor, brother George, children Valerie and Jimmy, his ex-wife Nancy, and his nephew George and family, and to all those who knew and loved Jimmy. He was a great guy. Still have the picture of him in our driveway in my mind with Michael and Steven and all the puppies we had. What a beautful boy and a smile to bring joy to your heart. Remember the good times and good memories always.
