JAMES, age 44, on March 30, 2016. Loving son of Catherine and the late Eugene. Father of Allyson Paul. Dear brother of Joseph, John (Jen), Gene (Melinda), Gerad, and Meghan (Bill) Oehler. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are invited to his Visitation Monday 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Gloria Dei Church, 570 Welsh Rd., Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 and Tuesday Prayer Service at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Abolish Child Sex Abuse, Inc., 740 Cornerstone Ln., Bryn Mawr, PA. 19010. Checks payable to FACSA or online at www.abolishsexabuse.org.

So sorry for your great loss, Cass and family. What a beautiful family you all were growing up in Fox Chase! Jimmy stood out as such a great soccer player, every coach wanted him on the team. As his brothers and sister, he captured the Spoerl spirit with his smile.

I am so sorry for the loss of the one and only Jimmy Fingers! My heart breaks for the family as they face this difficult time! You will all remain in my thoughts and prayers at this time of need! You all have alot of support out here as everybody loved him! He was for sure one of a kind w a heart of gold and a great sence of humor w that oh so contagious smile he had! God Bless all of you. I'm thankful Jimmy is no longer in so much pain, but heartbroken that you must go on without him in this life. May his lack of pain give you some sort of peace. I suspect that when God saw Jimmy coming through the gates of heaven he gathered him in his arms and wept. He knew that Jimmy had been through too much and I am certain his heart was broken at what happened to this man as a young boy. I remember him climbing the tree in front of his Grandmom Junod's house with his brothers , such a beautiful boy. I pray that God will give Cass and his brothers and sister the strength to face this sorrow . And I know that until you meet again God will hold Jimmy in the palm of his hand. Cass, you, like your Mom, are one of the strongest woman I know... You will lead your family in this time of grief. The Gaughan and Becker families are walking with you. Love, Mary Becker.

Jimmy Spoerl... my cousin,the camel at my grandmoms Christmas party, the Santa giving our cousins books, the guy always looking out for the underdog, the thinker,the writer, the smile that never ended, the first one there when my dad passed, nature lover, family man, lover of people, ... I could go on and on. Jimmy I will continue to carry on your lesson to all of us about loving others. We love you, and miss you dearly. Peace finally for you, and so well deserved. He might have been 44, but I still picture him as an 11 year old Boy Scout. Always had a smile and was willing to try anything to keep up with the big guys. I got to spend some time with the family as they grew up. So many memories. Wish I could make it up for the services. Hugs all around. (Jen and Joe have my phone number)

Jim was one of my best friends throughout high school. It was always an adventure and the making of great memories whether we were sitting on the bleachers at the rec or sitting in The Chase. I have not seen him in a few years but I remember my times with him like it was yesterday. My condolences, thoughts, and prayers are with the Spoerl family.
