JEFFREY ROSENBLUM Obituary

ROSENBLUM
JEFFREY S., age 65, passed away on October 31, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Jeffrey was a proud member of the 227th class of Central High School. He attended and taught at Temple University and its Law School, followed by a 35 year career as a commercial litigator, the last 14 years at mega-firm Ballard Spahr. Jeffrey was first and foremost a collector, adventurer, and family man. Traversing the back roads, he and his wife Judy traveled with their children to 48 states by the time the oldest was 14. An avid backpacker, Jeffrey has hiked and climbed in New England, the Adirondacks, the Wind Rivers, Colorado, Switzerland, and the High Peaks of Great Britain, culminating in a summit of Mt. Rainier at age 50 and traverse of the Grand Canyon at 62. His breweriana and Kennedy collections are of museum quality. A pioneer craft beer enthusiast, Jeffrey, most humbly, wanted to be remembered only as "someone you could always count on for a good beer." Jeffrey is survived by his selfless caretaker, wife, and love of his life Judy Slagoff, his sons David and Daniel (Melissa Heller), granddaughter Hensley Yael, mother Matilde, his sisters Susan (Kenneth) Adler, Sharon (Chuck) Presser, nieces and nephews, and granddog Cora. He is pre-deceased by his father Stuart Rosenblum. A memorial service is being held at GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH, 310 Second St. Pike, Southampton, PA at 4PM on Tuesday November 3, 2015. Shiva will begin Wednesday at noon until Friday at sundown at the decedent's former residence. Jeffrey's ashes will be spread by his children per his last wishes. Contributions in Jeffrey's memory can be made to Stand Up to Cancer - Pancreatic Dream Team, Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine, or Friends of Pennypack Park.

Hi Judy and family,
I was on the webpage for Pennypack Park today. Such a joy to see the work they are doing in preservation of this beautiful place. Most enjoyable, to me, was the Photo of the Month collection, highlighting the beauty of the park throughout the year and the many and varied activities. Love and hugs to you all.

Right about now Jeff must be engaging a group with discussions about almost anything. One of the most interesting , knowledgeable yet humble human beings that I have had the pleasure and honor to know.

SO sorry to find out Jeff has passed. He was a classmate at Central and I did get to know him a bit during those days. He was quite witty as I remember him and always one to cheer you up if you were down. I hope he did not suffer and I send my sincere condolences to his survivors for their loss. God Bless you Jeff.

I lived next door to Jeffrey on Temple Road in the 60s. We went to Central and Temple together and worked at Bobmans with the late Steven Starr. Jeffrey was Best Man at my wedding and although contacts have been through the phone for decades, I've always felt that he was the best friend that I ever had. Jeffrey was the most noble person that I've ever known.

I will always remember my last visit with Jeff was in Pennypack Park, supervising the planting of new trees along Pine Road, near his home. We reminisced about our park, our common journeys and adventures. I will miss his wisdom and advice, his knowledge & love of Pennypack Park. Jeff it was great knowing you.
