Joel Levitt Obituary
JOEL, April 26, 2008, husband of Patsy (nee Asam) of Melrose Park, father of Adam (Lori) Levitt, Chad Levitt, and Sara (Brad) Cooper, son of Nettie (Dr. Harold) Weiss and the late Abe Levitt, brother of Dr. Jerry (Dr. Julie) Levitt, Harvey (Andrea) Levitt and Dr. Richard (Debbie) Levitt, grandfather of Farren Levitt. Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services Mon., 2 P.M. precisely, at GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS, 6410 N. Broad St. Int Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family will return to his late residence. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia, 800 South 20th St. Phila, PA 19146.

Patsy, Richard: Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your families. As CHS classmates, our shared experiences have stayed with me, no matter how each of us navigated those brief,sometimes tumultuous, memorable years. Joel's friendship with someone "unpopular" (me) meant so much, however silly that sounds today. You will miss him more than I ever can, but please know that I already miss him a lot, especially his smile, warmth, humor, and sincerity, and any reunions we have from now on can never be the same.

Patsy and family-
I worked with Joel at High Speed Video and continued to do business with him at Action. I was so sad to hear of his illness and moreso now to learn of his death. He was a truly good person. Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss.

Dear Patsy and Family, to-day Irene told me Joel just pass away. I really miss him! what a gentleman and great heart plus giving person. I am very lucky in my life time to know and spend time with this gentleman in Bijing, Hong Kong and Korean Airport! His picture is always in my heart. I will never forgot you Joel!

Dear Patsy and family, My brother, Lindsay Leiper, called today to tell me of Joel's death. Lindsay had shared stories of you all with me as he came to know you last year. I think he and Joel were inspirations to each other, and that was a special gift in its' own right. My most sincere sympathies are extended you each of you. I met Joel and Patsy in the HUP Radiation Therapy Department while we were both undergoing intensive treatment for our brain tumors last summer. I can remember clearly the day the radiation and chemo combination "parted the fog" Joel was in and we connected in like "brothers-in-arms" having been given no guarantees but eager and willing to meet the beast head on. Joel was a warrior. He fought the good fight. He is an inspiration to many who read about him in my blog. Many were praying for him to be given to strength and ability to beat this but it was not to be. May you rest in peace and pass gently into that good night Joel and I'll see you on the other side one of the days! To Patsy and family - may you find peace and be very proud of Joel. He was one of a kind.

I have only worked at Action for 5 years but Joel always treated me like I was a long time part of the family. My thoughts and prayers go with the Family. He was a good, honest and honorable man, and they are few and far between. He will be sorely missed by all he was associated with. What a heart break it is to lose him, but the kingdom of heaven is that much fuller.

Kind,caring,compassionate:just a few words that come to mind when i think of Joel.It didnt matter to Joel whether you were an executive or a part time worker,he treated everyone the same-always with a smile or a funny quip.It has been my pleasure to work for Joel the past 8 years. If you were a visitor to Action you would never know that he was the owner unless someone told you. He didnt act the part: didnt dress in fancy suits, didnt look down on anybody, he was just one of us. I consider myself a lucky and better person for knowing Joel.My memories of Joel will always remain the same- a kind and caring family and business man. My prayers are with you.
