JOHN AUSTIN Obituary
John was born on April 16, 1928 in Bryn Mawr, later attending The Washington National Cathedral School and continuing his education at Yale Engineering School, graduating in the class of 1950.
It was there in New Haven, CT, where he met his love, Joan Dorothy Bickel. They shared a blessed life together for 65 yrs.
John enjoyed a long and respected career with the Philadelphia Electric Company, later becoming its President. During those 40 yrs he gathered many lifelong friends.
Always an active community member, he served on numerous boards and was a valued advisor to many, while residing in Valley Forge and Berwyn.
John loved his family, and cherished many years with them all, at their cottage on the Chesapeake Bay.
He leaves behind his beloved Joan; 4 children, 11 grand-children and 6 great grand-children.
John's quiet strength and courage, enormous generosity, wit and unconditional love will be missed and forever cherished.
