I met John whenI was in the telephone booth outside of "The Works", a sandwich shop owned by John and his brother-in-law, Tommy Oteri. John was waiting to use the phone. We had a lovely chat and became fast friends for the long-haul.

John brought a happiness and joy to my mom's life, like I have never seen before. For this, I am eternally grateful to this man, but it pains me to see their time together cut so short. This is an enormous loss for my mother and for our family. We will always remember John and hold him dear to our hearts. Rest easy, stepfather. I'm sorry we never had the chance to spend more time together.

John was a dear friend of the Zarych family. He was a very creative person with artistic sensibilities, he always seemed to have the next great idea and was motivated to get there!

so sorry for your loss, John and I were friends since our teenage years and worked together on numerous occasions. He was always kind and a good friend.
Last time I saw John in Phila. knowing I play piano he set me up on the concert stage at The Kimmel Center and I played in that beautiful hall for over an hour before we went to dinner at the press club which he would not let me pay for. A memory i will always cherish
