John Flexner Obituary

Flexner John Benjamin "BEN" John Benjamin Flexner known to his loved ones as Ben, passed away on April 15, 2025, in Philadelphia, PA, at the age of 44. Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Ben lived in Oregon and New Mexico during his early years before making his home in Philadelphia. He studied at the University of New Mexico and graduated from Wilmington University, pursuing a life marked by curiosity, creativity, and compassion. Ben was a man of deep passions and strong convictions. He was committed to health and fitness-an avid weightlifter, cyclist, and runner who inspired those around him to live actively and intentionally. His love of music, cooking, travel, and video games brought joy both to his life and to the many friends with whom he shared those interests. He was also a devoted companion to his beloved cats, whose presence always brought him comfort. Ben is survived by his loving spouse, Robyn O'Brien; his mother, Deborah Coffey; his father, John Lindsey Flexner; and his brother, Dylan Belnavis-Flexner. He leaves behind a wide circle of friends, chosen family, and those whose lives were enriched by his kindness, his humor, and his unwavering authenticity. A Memorial Service to celebrate Ben's life will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2025 12:00 P.M. at the LAUREL HILL WEST CONSERVATORY, 215 Belmont Ave, Bala Cynwyd, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The EHE Foundation: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/in-memory-of-ben-flexner Ben lived with intensity, honesty, and heart. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and always cherished. www.laurelhillphl.com

I came to know Ben through his father, Lindsey, who always spoke of him with deep pride and love. It was clear that their bond was more than just father and son - they were true friends. Ben was a hardworking young man, full of love, passion, and integrity. His life was a beautiful gift to everyone around him. Though his time here was far too short, his spirit continues to live on. I truly believe he is now in the embrace of our loving Father, free from pain and surrounded by eternal light.

Ben's Olo team is deeply saddened by the loss of our esteemed colleague and friend. He was a true luminary in his field, whose expertise and dedication were invaluable to our team. His contributions will be sorely missed, but his memory will live on in the work that he inspired.

He was not only a brilliant professional but also a trusted confidante and a source of unwavering support. His warmth, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of everyone he encountered. We will always remember him for his infectious enthusiasm, his quick wit, and his unwavering commitment to excellence.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ben's family and loved ones during this difficult time. May they find comfort in the knowledge that he was deeply respected and admired by all who knew him.

Rest in peace, dear friend. You will be forever missed.
